Built over the Lohit river, the 9.15 km long Dhola-Sadia bridge connects the sister states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in India. The construction of this two-lane bridge took over 5 years and the bridge was finally thrown open to traffic on 26th May, 2017.
Inaugurated by the honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in the company of the Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, the bridge is an engineering marvel as it is designed to withstand the weight of tanks in order to provide the army with easy access to the country’s border. The bridge was named after the famous singer Late Shri Bhupen Hazarika.
TPF Engineering Pvt. Ltd. was the Independent Engineer for this project. The client for this project was the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the project was built on BOT (Annuity) Basis.
